As many as 35
passengers on board an Air India flight from Salalah to Thiruvananthapuram via
Kochi were stranded at the Cochin International Airport on Thursday after the
flight terminated its service in Kochi, apparently owing to shortage of crew
members. The passengers staged a stir for being stranded here without any
connection-flight available.
According to
information from Air India’s office at the airport, there was no prior
information about any such re-routing of the flight. While the AI services here
tried to arrange a connecting flight to Thiruvananthapuram that leaves at 9.15
p.m., the passengers missed it as the flight from Salalah had landed after 8.30
p.m.
However, it is learnt
that the Air India office arranged for the passengers to leave for
Thiruvananthapuram by road.
