BANGALORE: Kingfisher
Airlines on Thursday capped the limit on foreign institutional investment to 3
per cent thereby paving the way for foreign direct investment of 46 per cent
stake in the airline.
The
Vijay Mallya-owned airline had earlier said that it is in talks with various
investors including the Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways for a possible stake in
Kingfisher. Under the Government policy, foreign investors can hold up to 49
per cent stake in a domestic carrier. At present, the foreign institutional
investors hold 2.46 per cent stake in the airline.
